How is Mustache Transplantation Done?

Mustache transplantation is performed using the FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) technique. The basic steps of this method are:

1. Inspection and Planning:

• The doctor evaluates the patient’s mustache area and general health condition.

• It determines whether it is suitable for mustache transplantation.

• It determines the number of grafts to be transplanted and the donor area.

• He plans the mustache design according to the patient’s wishes.

2. Anesthesia:

• The mustache area and the donor area are anesthetized with local anesthesia.

3. Graft Retrieval:

• Using the FUE technique, follicular units (hair follicles) are taken one by one from donor areas such as the nape of the neck or behind the ear.

4. Graft Preparation:

• The collected follicular units are prepared for transplantation.

5. Opening Channels:

• Channels are opened in the mustache area, suitable for the size and angle of the grafts to be transplanted.

6. Transplantation of Grafts:

• The prepared follicular units are placed in the channels using tweezers or a Choi pen.

7. Dressing:

• Dressing is applied to the transplanted area.

Mustache transplantation usually takes 2-3 hours. The recovery process after the procedure takes approximately 10 days. During this process, the transplanted hairs fall out, but new hairs begin to grow after 3-4 months and the mustache takes its final shape within 1 year.

The success of mustache transplantation depends on the experience of the doctor, the technique used and the general health condition of the patient.

Do not force the crust to form.
